Why People Why?
I don’t know if any of you were told but the government wants to shut down the baseball fields!
Some background info
Kuwait has had the Florence Nasrallah baseball fields for ages which is located on the 6th ring road in what is now known as the Al-Zahra area! I played on those fields back in the day when I took part in The Kuwait Little League, and I have recently played there as well! (Softball Post)
New Controversy
The government wants to tear the fields apart and build a prison there! Why on earth would you want to take away a place such as this that brings families and kids together in a healthy and enjoyable environment to build a prison! A prison that will be located so close to residential neighborhoods and Ministry buildings? Am I the only person who sees an issue with that or do you see it as well?

This is the irony of our government’s suppression of society. I mean tearing down a baseball field that has been a space for people to spend their time practicing their hobbies, playing sports and creating a healthy lifestyle, keeping the youth off the streets, creating problems and getting into drugs; and then building a prison on the same land that has been used to avoid people going into prison in the first place?!
So sad

Baseball fields named after Florence Al-Nasrallah? That’s awesome. I had no idea… She was a friend of mine. Great woman who left us too soon.

Delicately Realistic : Rumor has it that the American Ambassador might intervene and inshallah he does! I don’t think anyone knows other than the organizers of the fields, the parents of the players, and the volunteers!
Mar : I don’t know what the crime rate is here but you are true regarding the way covering green with stone is soo typical here! Such backward thinking and lack of planning!
