My Cruiser and Tires

Most if not all of you know I own a Land Cruiser and I have been slowly working on it to make it more of a heavy duty 4×4! Just a recap of what I have done so far, I added a snorkel, and heavy duty suspension that gave me a 3″ lift, but other than that I added wind deflectors, and a few small interior touches!

My next objective was to get a roof rack with a roof tent and awning but turns out it will cost me KD1000 just to buy and that does not include installing the roof rack! So instead I decided I might be better off putting new tires on the cruiser. I currently have 275/70R16 on my cruiser and I want to go up to 315/75R16!

I also thought about buying 6 new wheels so that I can keep the tires I have now on the original wheels just in case I ever need them! If I decide to buy the same ones I have then it would come up to KD60 for the wheels but I do not know what to go for when it comes to the tires.

I was thinking of BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires but I know I will be breaking the bank with that one!

Another reason I want to change them is cause I think I am getting a sign from above to do so! :P For example, in the last week I had to repair 2 tires, and one of those tires was repaired twice! I also had to replace a tire and put the spare on which gave me another tire to repair as well! Total of 3 tires and 4 repairs. I think that is a sign telling me change the tires! :P

  • Sheno ?

  • Vodka : Welcome to my blog! I want to change the tires on my car and make them bigger! I was posting about the size I want and the tire I would like on my car!

  • hi! isn’t there any tires that are the same hight as yours now but like thicker??

  • Deema : Not really! I also want a tire with more rubber to increase the section height so that the gap created after I added the new suspension would decrease! Now, if you look at the spacing of my cruiser there is a large gap between the tire and the wheel well! Looks weird and makes the tires look small that’s why the bigger size!

  • aaah ok :)
i’m sorry but i have to play my mind, can’t you design the wheel to fit your tire? ooo isn’t it better to have a gap in a heavy duty car?
(i have to admit that you are so patient if you answered!)

you know i wish that i can design my whole car, i think i would design it with manipulation od wood exterior and a classic matt color,, wanasa!

  • Deema : I can get different looking wheels or different sized ones but it’s just going to be too much on the pocket, if you know what I mean! As for the size between the tire and the wheel well, it would be nice to have space if there were rocks to climb but since the terrain is not rocky you can sacrifice a little space to make the car look more aggressive and ride better with more traction on the road!

  • lol ok got it ! :P
